Last updated: 3 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, how we use and protect it, and what choices you have. It is written to align with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and other applicable Indian law. It should be read with our Terms of Service and Disclaimer.

Important: aadhaarpay.com is not an official Aadhaar or Aadhaar Pay website and is not affiliated with UIDAI, NPCI, or any government body or bank. We will never ask for your Aadhaar number, OTP, PIN, password, card or bank details, or biometrics. Never share them with anyone claiming to represent this site.

1. What We Are, and What We Do Not Do

aadhaarpay.com is not a bank, payment app, or payment service, and it is not an Aadhaar enrolment, update, or authentication service. We do not give personalised financial, legal, or tax advice. We do not manage funds, process transactions, open accounts, or carry out identity verification (KYC). For that reason we never need your Aadhaar number, PAN, bank, card, or UPI details, and we ask you not to send them to us.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us voluntarily

  • Comments: your display name, and any other information you include in a comment. Comments are public.
  • Emails to us: your name, email address, and whatever you choose to tell us when you contact us, report an error, or share an experience.
  • Contributor enquiries: if you write to us about contributing, the information you share about yourself and your background, which we use to review your enquiry.
  • Email updates (if offered): your email address, if you subscribe to any email updates we offer.

Information collected automatically

  • Log and device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, referring pages, pages viewed, and access times.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: used by our hosting platform, analytics, and advertising partners (see Sections 4 and 5).

We do not collect Aadhaar numbers, biometric data, PAN, bank account details, card numbers, or transaction history, and we do not knowingly collect any sensitive personal data.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To communicate with you: to reply to your messages, review contributor enquiries, handle corrections, and send any updates you subscribed to.
  • To improve the Website: to understand which topics readers find useful, check site performance, and improve navigation.
  • To keep the Website safe: to prevent spam comments, malicious traffic, and unauthorised access.
  • To meet legal obligations: where the law requires it.

We do not use your personal data to make automated decisions about you, and we do not use it to give personalised financial advice.

4. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising

The Website may use the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy practices:

  • Hosting and infrastructure (Blogger / Google): the Website is hosted on Google's Blogger platform, which processes technical data to deliver the Website, and may set cookies.
  • Analytics (such as Blogger statistics or Google Analytics): these use cookies and similar technologies to produce aggregate statistics about visitors and traffic sources. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Advertising (such as Google AdSense): Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can manage personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services here. You can also opt out of many third-party vendors' personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
  • Email delivery: if we offer email updates, your email address is processed by the third-party email service we use to deliver them.
  • Embedded content: pages may embed videos, charts, or other third-party content, which may set their own cookies when loaded.

Controlling cookies: most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Website works. Where you are shown a cookie notice or consent message, your choices there will be applied.

5. Affiliate and Referral Links

Some links on the Website may be affiliate or referral links. If you click one, the third-party site may set its own cookies and track the visit so that we can be credited with a commission. We do not receive your personal or financial details from that third party. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies, and the presence of such a link is not an endorsement (see our Disclaimer).

6. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data on the following bases:

  1. Your consent: given when you post a comment, email us, subscribe to any updates, or accept cookies where a cookie notice is shown. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  2. Legitimate uses permitted by law: for example, responding to a message you sent us, keeping the Website secure and preventing spam, and complying with legal obligations.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only in these situations:

  • With service providers that help us run the Website, such as hosting, analytics, advertising, and email delivery, for those purposes only.
  • Where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government or law enforcement authority.
  • Where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of aadhaarpay.com, its readers, or others.

8. Data Storage, Retention and Transfers

  • Retention: we keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was given. Email addresses for any updates are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Emails to us are kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and any follow-up. Public comments remain until removed.
  • Where data is processed: our service providers, including Google, may process data on servers located outside India. We use providers that maintain security safeguards, and we handle such transfers in line with applicable law.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal data we hold, including limiting access to it and relying on established platforms. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach affecting you occurs, we will inform you and the relevant authority as required by law. Please never email us passwords, OTPs, Aadhaar numbers, or financial account details.

10. Comments Are Public

Anything you write in a comment is visible to other readers and may be indexed by search engines. Please do not include your Aadhaar number, phone number, address, or financial details, or anyone else's personal data, in a comment. We may remove comments that contain such information. You can ask us to remove a comment you posted by writing to us.

11. Experiences You Share With Us

If you share a first-hand experience with digital payments, benefit transfers, or similar services, we will ask for your consent before publishing any part of it, and we will remove or change names, locations, and other identifying details unless you clearly agree otherwise. Please do not send us photographs of identity documents, account statements, or screenshots that contain personal data. See our Editorial Policy for how we handle such accounts.

12. Children

The Website is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights as a Data Principal, subject to the Act and the rules made under it (which are being brought into force in phases):

  • Correction and erasure: to ask us to correct inaccurate data or delete data we no longer need to keep.
  • Withdraw consent: to withdraw your consent at any time, for example by using the "Unsubscribe" link in any email we send. Withdrawal does not affect processing done before it.
  • Grievance redressal: to have your complaint about our handling of your data addressed (see Section 17).
  • Nomination: to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

To exercise any of these rights, write to us at the email address in Section 17. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

14. Readers Outside India

The Website is oriented towards India, but it can be read from anywhere. If you are in another country, you may have additional rights under your local data protection law, and where such law applies to us, we will respect it. In some regions, advertising and analytics cookies are shown only after you give consent through a cookie notice, and you can change your choice there at any time.

15. External Links

Our articles link to third-party websites such as government agencies, regulators, central banks, research bodies, and companies.
